How to Get to Koh Samui Airport from Koh Phangan

Here is the best way we’ve found to get to Koh Samui Airport from Koh Phangan.

Seatran Ferry Times from Koh Phangan to Koh Samui:

300 Baht one-way

150 Baht for transfer service (drop-off within Koh Samui)

The ferry ticket can be purchased ahead of time on-line or at the ticket booth at the entrance into the pier. Personally, I prefer to have the actual ticket instead of a print-out whenever possible. It makes me feel a little more secure because many parts of Thailand still functions on the low-tech, old-fashioned way of doing things. The people working at the docks seem to be a lot more comfortable dealing with the actual physical tickets than cell phone screen confirmations or even a print-out of a ticket.

I usually buy mine at the ticket booth either the day before or the same day.

If you are traveling around the full-moon party time, I would recommend purchasing the ticket at least one day ahead. If you’re purchasing your ticket on-line, you’ll need to make sure you find a place that can print it for you before your day of travel.

Seatran ferry also offers a transfer service which you can purchase for 150 baht to take you from Bangrak Pier to Samui Airport. Ask about it when you are purchasing your ferry ticket.
