This page is an ongoing compendium of the equipment, software, and gear that we use in our online businesses, and our travel.
Software & Online Services
WordPress – WordPress is web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. I build all of my blogs on WordPress. WordPress allows you complete control over your content. You never know how big you can grow, so prepare for the future before you get there.
StudioPress – StudioPress provides stylish, mobile responsive themes for your WordPress website to stand out and have style.
Wishlist Member – A WordPress plugin that turns your website into Membership site. This is what I use for membership access to JohnnyFit Online.
Optimize Press – My favorite tool for creating great landing pages, or styling membership areas within my websites. I like Optimize Press because it doesn’t require a monthly subscription to use like a lot of similar products.
YouTube – I use YouTube to host videos that I want anyone to see.
Vimeo Pro – I use Vimeo Pro to host the videos that I place within my membership site, that requires member access to view.
Photoshop – It’s simply the best tool for creating custom images, and properly optimizing images so that your web pages load smoothly.
Camtasia Studio – The best software for editing video and using screen capture technology for a PC.
MailChimp – I use MailChimp for managing my mailing lists, and boosting sales. It’s a real pain in the butt to move your list to another system once you get set up. Fortunately, I’ve never been disappointed since I’ve started using MailChimp.
Equipment & Gear
Canon VIXIA HF M50 Camcorder – This is an amazing all purpose camcorder for filming presentations and capturing life’s moments. It has great low light ability, built in microphone, and auto focus features for those moments when you’re being the jack of all trades.
Sony Action Cam HDR-AS200VR – We LOVE this waterproof Sony Action Cam, and found it to be the perfect substitute for a more expensive GoPro Hero 4.
Audio-Technica AT2020USB Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone – If you’re creating pod casts or voice over for video, then nothing will turn your fans off faster than crappy audio. This is a great base level professional recording mic to take your game to the next level.
Osprey Porter 46 Travel Duffel Bag – Quite possibly the best bag for international travel. We love ours so much that we wrote up a complete review of the Osprey Porter 46 along with videos of what we’ve packed for our Thailand adventure.
Sentey 20800mah Portable Charger Power Bank – Keep your gadgets charged with this amazing power bank. It’s one of our favorite items that we use daily to recharge cell phones, cameras, and tablets.
